Dennis is a long-time car and motorcycle collector, but most people are not aware that his day job for many years was as a chemist working in product development for Proctor & Gamble and Bristol-Myers Squibb. At P&G he either worked on, or created, most of P&G's food products in the 80's, including Pringles, with which he bears a striking resemblance to the handlebar mustachioed character on the can. You can see in Dennis's biography that he is much more than the host of a popular TV show.
In fact, it is a very popular TV show. My Classic Car pilot series, hosted by Dennis, was developed for TNN and received strong ratings when it aired on TNN in early 1996. Based on this success, the show premiered as a weekly series on TNN in January, 1997. After only 6 months on the air, Dennis was selected by The Cable Guide and Total Television as one of the "Hot Faces of Cable" for 1997.
In 2000 the show moved to SPEED channel where it reaches over 85 million households. Now in production for its eighteenth season, My Classic Car is one of the highest rated programs on the network.
Dennis has collected a number of interesting cars and trucks. Cars include a'56 Lincoln Premiere, a '63 Studebaker GT Hawk, a '63 Thunderbird, a '67 Thunderbird, suicide 4-door, a '73 Opel GT, a '91 Lincoln Mark VII, a '91 Taurus SHO, a '95 Taurus SHO, a '02 Thunderbird, and a '05 Hemi Magnum. His bikes are a '68 Motoguzzi V7, a '69 BMW R60US, a '73 BMW R75/5 Toaster tank, a '83 BMW R80 Custom, a '97 BMW F650, a '98 Triumph Trophy 1200, and a '93 BMW R1100RS
10th Annual Virginia Fall Classic Nets Over $38,000 for Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters
Proceeds from the 10th Annual Virginia Fall Classic Charity Events held in the City of Newport News during the weekend of October 19-21, 2012 were donated to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
A fantastic weekend with gorgeous weather helped bring out a large group of enthusiasts and spectators. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The VFC Car Show and many other events held throughout this past year were a resounding financial success, and the proceeds were donated to CHKD to assist with their many Peninsula projects.
On behalf of the Virginia Peninsula Car Club Council, the Newport News Police Department, and the Newport News Parks, Recreation and Tourism, we would like to donate to CHKD $38,634.32 The ten year total from these events is $331,766.67!
We would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all the sponsors, vendors, the dedicated hard working volunteers, all event participants, and the citizens of our community who support our Annual Virginia Fall Classic Charity Events and the many other events though out the year for CHKD. With the help and support of these fine people we are proud and able to make this donation.
In addition, we would like to express our thanks to the administrators, doctors, nurses, staff, and volunteers at CHKD for the wonderful work they do for the children and families in times of medical crises. We wish each of you a Happy Holiday Season. Thank You.
We hope to see you at our 11th Annual Virginia Fall Classic!

Perfect Weather for 10th Virginia Fall Classic
Sunny skies and highs around 70 greeted participants and spectators to the 10th Annual Virginia Fall Classic.
The Friday evening Kasual Kruz-in and Dinner featured another delicious meal donated by the Newport News Outback Steakhouse and served by Outback volunteers. The lucky door prize winners received three very nice electrically-heated jackets donated by Ferguson Enterprises. Music was provided by our favorite DJ, Tom Norris. On Saturday, over 250 very special cars, trucks and motorcycles were enjoyed by hundreds of spectators. The Fall Classic's first race car display was provided by Dave Rex, Doug Sample, George Kater, and Abacus Racing. Sunday's Fall Scenery Cruise took us up the beautiful Colonial Parkway almost to Jamestown and then back to picturesque Yorktown.
